We are developing our new priorities and ambitions for the next four years – and tackling the housing crisis is high on the agenda.
Our focus is on supporting the need for lower cost and social rented homes, challenging the government on the level of local housing allowance and working with partners to deliver affordable, safe and good quality homes.
Priorities also include improving energy efficiency, holding landlords to account, and supporting the Borough’s most vulnerable residents.

We are joining forces with other organisations across Devon to help tackle the county's housing crisis.
A new Devon Housing Commission, a partnership between the eleven local authorities across Devon, Plymouth and Torbay - and supported by the University of Exeter, will act as a powerful voice to address the housing issues which are having an impact on people's health and the economy.

We're supporting our vulnerable residents with Household Support Funding to help against the cost of living.
We have agreed to take fast action to get £150 support payments into the pockets of residents as quickly as possible.
The support is there to help with essential living basics, such as food, energy, water, and other necessary bills that people might be struggling to pay.
