Have your Say on our Electric Vehicle Charging Strategy

EV

Transport is one of the biggest causes of emissions in our Borough, so that's why we have pulled together a plan to help more people who want to use electric vehicles.

Our EV Charging Strategy outlines our proposals of of how we want to develop and put in place an EV charging infrastructure that supports the needs of the community.

Have your say online on our proposed plan by 6 July 2023.

Stay Cool and Safe this Weekend

hot weather

Heading out this weekend? Perhaps a visit to the coast or a walk across the moors?

The Met Office says it will be the hottest weekend so far this year with a amber heat alert across the South West until 9 a.m. on Monday.

You will have heard much of the advice about beating the heat, but here is a reminder about what you can do to protect yourself and your family from the heat.

If spending time outdoors remember to take water or other hydrating drinks with you and protect yourself from the sun during the hottest hours of the day, usually between 11am and 3pm.

For some people, especially older people and those with underlying health conditions, the summer heat can bring real health risks. Temperatures indoors can be higher than temperatures outdoors. Keep an eye on people you know who may be at risk this summer. Ask if your friends, family or neighbours need any help keeping cool.

More useful tips can be found on the UK Health Security Agency website.
