Merry Christmas from everyone at West Devon Borough Council; in this festive newsletter you'll get the latest advice on changes to waste and recycling collections, our opening hours and information on how to find services that could help you this winter.
Cllr Neil Jory, Leader of West Devon Borough Council, said: “What an eventful year 2022 has been. As a community we have once again pulled together to deal with unforeseen crises – whether that might be welcoming Ukrainian guests into our homes and schools or supporting residents affected by increases in the cost of living and energy prices, and numerous other challenges.
“As a Council we have taken a national lead in identifying and lobbying to change housing benefit anomalies which have resulted in the exploitation of some of the most vulnerable people living in our Communities.
“This led to us giving evidence to a select committee at the Houses of Parliament and to securing changes to the system – a great result for a small, rural Council.
“After the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and those we’ve seen in 2022, the resilience and kindness of people in West Devon continues to warm the heart.
“Thank you to everyone for making West Devon such a special place to live. I would like to extend a very warm Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone living and working in the Borough.”
