If you've been receiving free food parcels, medicine deliveries and care from the National Shielding Service, these will stop from 1 August.
The government will pause shielding from Friday 31 July unless the transmission of COVID-19 in the community starts to rise significantly.
This means:
- the government will no longer be advising you to shield
- the support from the National Shielding Service of free food parcels, medicine deliveries and care will stop
- NHS Volunteer Responders will carry on delivering the food you buy, prescriptions and essential items to you if you need it
- you will still be eligible for priority supermarket slots (if you have registered by 17 July)
You must still take precautions when you go out however. Wash hands regularly, avoid touching your face and keep two metres away from people who are not part of your household or bubble.

There are more activities becoming available from Saturday July 11. Outdoor pools are reopening, along with performing arts outdoor performances.
From Monday 13 July, you can enjoy a massage, have your nails painted or get a tattoo as part of the reopening of beauty salons, nail bars and tattoo studios. However, it's only services that do not work in front of the face, so you'll have to wait for longer if you were hoping to get your eyebrows reshaped.
If you've been chomping at the bit to get back to your fitness regime, then you'll be pleased to know that indoor gyms, pools and leisure centres can reopen from Saturday 25 July.

The Foreign & Commonwealth Office currently advises British nationals against all but essential international travel.
If you have future cruise travel plans, you should speak to your travel operator, or the travel company you booked with, for further advice.
From today, Friday 10 July, you will not have to self-isolate when you arrive back in England, if you are returning from one of the countries with travel corridor exemption.
If you have been to a country that’s not on the travel corridors exemption list you will have to self-isolate for 14 days after you left that country.
|
If you do need to travel, keep checking with the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) for coronavirus and travel advice for the countries you are travelling to.
Travel disruption is still possible and national control measures may be brought in with little notice so make sure you have appropriate travel insurance in case you have unexpected costs.

Follow government advice on social distancing and if you're worried that you might have symptoms of coronavirus, get a NHS test free immediately and self isolate in line with current guidance.
Lots of businesses are now reopening and will all be following strict measures to make sure that you, and their staff, are safe.
For information on how to plan your days out, you might find the government's website Know Before You Go useful.

When enjoying the lovely summer weather in the countryside, please follow the Countryside Code.
You can do this by
- taking all of your litter home
- not using barbecues as they risk wildfires
- keep dogs under control and on a lead - read further guidance for pet owners
- leave gates as you find them and following instructions on signs
- use footpaths and follow signs where they suggest alternative routes
Wildlife, including nesting birds, may have moved into new areas so take extra care to not disrupt the local wildlife. More information can be found here.

Fancy a bargain meal out in August while supporting your local cafes, pubs and restaurants?
You can use the Eat Out to Help Out Scheme:
- all day, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 3 to 31 August 2020
- to get a 50% discount, up to a maximum of £10 per person, to diners for food or non-alcoholic drinks to eat or drink in
There is no limit to the number of times you can use the offer during the period of the scheme. However, you can't get a discount for someone who is not eating or drinking. Alcohol and service charges are excluded from the offer.
You don't have to do anything to claim your discount, it will be automatically applied to your meal if the cafe, restaurant or pub has signed up to the Government's scheme.
