Waste Services Update

Services are still operating as normal with the exception of bulky collections as reported previously. In future we will only give waste updates when there is a change in service status.

Residents are continuing to put out more waste than normal for the time of year which is creating long working days for crews who’s numbers are already down due to the effects of the virus. There has been a sharp increase in all types of waste including black sack, recycling, garden and food and we ask residents to store waste.

We have reports of ordinary rubbish being put into brown bins with the garden and food waste. This cannot be composted and there is a danger that whole vehicle loads will be rejected from the specialist composting site if it continues. Whilst appreciating this is a difficult time for us all, we will be monitoring bins and refusing to collect where appropriate.
