Swale Borough Council CAT Policies Consultation
Swale Borough Council is asking for people’s views on how charities, businesses, voluntary organizations, and town and parish councils can work with the council should they wish to take ownership and the management of assets that Swale Borough Council currently owns.
The council are looking to develop new Disposal and Community Asset Transfer (CAT) Policies which will outline a framework for identifying and transferring surplus assets, such as land, property, and buildings to charities, voluntary organizations, and town councils.
The goal is to promote greater community ownership and management of local assets.
Read the draft policies here:
The consultation sets out a series of questions that will help guide the making of the policy and is open from 20 August to 15 October for charities, voluntary organizations, town councils, and residents, to share their feedback via https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=pwB-GLHLqEKKkyKMjspWw1gRZ53B_3pFgKqyxwvy99xUMDgwVjhINzFSSlBHUkM3VkRINUJBWkZXNC4u .

- make small capital investments to support growth and carbon reduction measures
- or support capital projects which help develop the local visitor economy
This project is funded by the UK government through the Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF).

If the grant scheme becomes oversubscribed, we may close the grant scheme early to new applications.

Call for Sites
The Council is carrying out a further Call for Sites exercise, to ensure that we have considered all potential development sites within Swale. This event will run from 9am on 3rd October until 5pm on 14th November 2024 inclusive, and we welcome the submission of new sites.
Please note, this does not mean that your site will automatically be found suitable if you provide a submission, as the Council has a duty to balance the need for housing, employment and retail in the most appropriate areas.
The submission of sites form is on our online consultation portal and we will not be accepting sites by email or in hard copy. You can find further information and guidance notes here: swale.gov.uk/callforsites
Please contact the Planning Policy Team if you need assistance or have any queries. Please read the privacy information relating to this event (https://swale.gov.uk/localplanprivacynotice).
