Social Work Week 2023
Social Work Week 2023 runs from Monday 20 to Friday 24 March 2023 this year, and will aim to bring people together to learn, connect and influence change. Social Work England is running a programme of free webinars for people to attend on a variety of topics, including:
- Improving social care with LGBTQ+ young people
- Social work regulation and practice education
- Raising awareness of co-production good practice in higher education
- Continuing professional development: the first 3 years
- Seated yoga: part of your toolkit for wellbeing, focus and life

COVID-19 spring booster
As part of the COVID vaccination programme, people at highest risk of severe illness will be eligible for a spring booster. The dose will be offered to :
- everyone aged 75 and over
- residents in care homes for older adults
- immunosuppressed people aged 5 and over

North Staffs Asperger/Autism Association
The North Staffs Asperger/Autism Association (NSAAA) provides support, help, advice and information to individuals with autistic spectrum conditions, their families and carers. The NSAAA offers a variety of social clubs for their members of all ages on a monthly basis.

New service supports 131 vulnerable people in Stoke in just three months
Home support provider Revival’s new Safe and Well Checks service is helping to check in on residents living in the community who have been identified as vulnerable by social workers or locality connectors. Find out more about the service and who it supports.

Local housing provider joins national domestic abuse commitment to increase support for residents
Stoke-based housing provider Staffs Housing estimates 150 of their residents could be experiencing domestic abuse based on national figures. It’s why they’ve introduced vital changes following national guidance from the Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance to improve how they provide support. Community theatre and film group
The Grocott Centre is an independent charity which aims to promote the welfare, well-being and social inclusion of vulnerable groups.
The weekly community theatre and film group launched earlier this year helps people with confidence building, communication, technical support and production skills. The sessions run every Friday from 10am to 3pm at the Hive, Finstock Avenue, Blurton, ST3 3JS. To get involved contact: the Grocott Centre or telephone: 01782 324715.

NHS staff survey 2022 – the results are in and it’s another great year for Combined
North Staffs Combined Healthcare Trust has achieved leading results and scores compared with its comparison cohort of mental health and learning disability trusts in the latest NHS staff survey 2022. Watch the NHS staff survey results video | YouTube.
The staff at Combined delivered the best scores of the entire cohort in the two People Promise themes of staff engagement and staff morale. Read more about the NHS staffs survey | online.
