Following government guidance we are pleased that we can now welcome you into libraries to browse our shelves, borrow books and use a PC or photocopier.
You can now visit:
City Central Library (Hanley)
Stoke Library
Tunstall Library
From Monday 26 April you will be able to visit:
Longton Library
Bentilee Library and Meir Library will continue to offer a Click, Call and Collect service but we are working hard to provide more services from these locations as soon as possible.
At the moment we are operating temporarily reduced opening hours - so before you visit us make sure that you check our opening hours. You'll find more information about what services you can expect at Stoke-on-Trent Libraries and our temporary opening hours here: www.stoke.gov.uk/libraryopening
A few key points
You must wear a face covering in libraries (unless you are exempt)
There will be no access to toilet facilities.
Everyone aged 16 and over will be asked to complete a Test and Trace form or check in using the NHS Covid-19 app.
You will still be able to use our Click, Call and Collect service even in libraries that have reopened for browsing and PC use.
A limited number of people will be allowed inside each library at any one time, so you may need to queue at busy times.
We will ask you to use hand sanitiser, follow signs and keep your distance from library staff and other customers.
Our computers will be spaced further apart so fewer PCs will be available - we'll also provide cleaning materials so you can wipe the PC down before and after use.
We will continue to quarantine any library books that are returned for 72 hours before they are returned to the library shelves.
What will I be able to do in libraries that have reopened?
You'll be able to:
Browse, choose and borrow books and talking books from the library shelves
Return books and other items previously borrowed from the library
Join the library
Use a PC for up to one hour
Print from a PC
Use a photocopier
At the moment you will not be able to:
Sit and read, study or use the library WiFi
Read newspapers or magazines
Use the library toilets
Book and use a meeting room or hold a meeting in the library
You'll find more information about what services you can expect at Stoke-on-Trent Libraries and our temporary opening hours here: www.stoke.gov.uk/libraryopening
