The Pottery Throw Down is back on our screens and if you're feeling inspired why not try one of our friendly pottery workshops.

Bone China Flowermaking - Candle Holders - Saturday 15 February

Learn about bone china flowermaking from one of our experts and make your own beautiful bone china candle holder using applied flowermaking techniques. This will then be glazed and fired at the museum ready for collection.
£25 per person, 11.30 am – 1.30 pm. 

 

Art Deco Plate Painting Workshop - Saturday 29 February

Learn more about the art deco style of painting famously used by artists such as Susie Cooper and Clarice Cliff. Paint your own decorative plate to take home. 11.30 am – 1pm, £12 per person.

 

Raku Pottery Firings, Half Day - Saturday March 14

Raku is a Japanese pottery firing process and in our hands-on sessions you can glaze and fire your own pot under the supervision of ceramicist Tez Roberts. Experience the excitement of an outdoor firing and produce your own ceramic masterpiece to take home with you. 10am – 12.30pm or 1 – 3.30pm, £25 per person.

Coiled Pot Making Workshop - Saturday 4 April

 

Make your own decorative pot to take home with you by handbuilding and coiling clay.

This hour and a half session includes help from our expert ceramicist.

11.30am - 1pm, £12.

Raku Pottery Firings, Full Day - Saturday 13 June

Get hands-on in this whole day session where you can glaze and fire two pots with expert supervision.10.30am - 3.30pm, £45. 

Admission to the museum (normally £7.75) is included with all of these workshops. Booking is essential, give us a call on 01782 237777 to book your place. The museum is open 10am - 4pm, Tuesdays to Saturdays.
