Christmas Shopping Discount,

Thursday 29th , Friday 30th November and Saturday 1st December

Save 15% when you spend £5 or more in the shop. Choose from gifts, cards, books and ceramics made or decorated on site. Admission tickets not included. The shop and café welcome non-museum visitors.

Snowman Trail, Tuesdays – Saturdays during December

Can you find snowmen hiding around our site? Free pencil and entry into a prize draw for everyone who takes part. £1 plus admission.

Victorian Christmas Fun Day, Saturday 1st December

Start the festive season in style and join us for a day of fun for the whole family. Enjoy festive stories from characters from Dickens’ Christmas Carol, join our naughty elves in a snowball fight and take part in seasonal craft activities. There may even be a very special visitor in a red suit! Included in normal admission.

Make a Light Up Christmas Tree Card, Saturday 8th December

Make a working paper circuit in the shape of a Christmas tree and connect it to make the star light up at the top! Suitable for all ages and included with museum admission, 11am – 3pm.

Toddler Thursday - Fun for the Under 5s, Thursday 13th December

Learn, play and explore in our sessions especially for under 5’s and their parents or carers. £1 per child but normal admission applies if you wish to visit the rest of the museum.

Christmas Carol Evening,

Friday 14th December

Spend an evening at the museum celebrating the festive season at our twilight opening. See candle-lit demonstrations of pottery skills and listen to a brass band and Christmas carols in the cobbled courtyard. 5 – 7pm, admission free.

'Tis the Season to be Jolly Talk, Saturday 15th December

Join us for a seasonal talk by Kath Reynolds. Take a look back at some of our Christmas traditions, celebrations, food and toys! Enjoy a few carols and a look at films we've watched inthe festive season. 11am, this event is free and normal admission applies to the rest of the museum. Please call 01782 237777 to book a place.

Silver Success for Gladstone!

Last week two of us attended the Staffordshire Tourism Awards at the National Memorial Arboretum.

The awards are run by Destination Staffordshire and are independently judged and verified by Service Science.

Entrants were reviewed and marked on their commitment to delivering excellent customer service, training and skills for employees, sustainability and environment, along with dedication to best practice, quality of service and product.

We were thrilled to receive two awards - Silver for Best Small Visitor Attraction and Silver for Inclusive Tourism.
