Stoke-on-Trent launches first major joint campaign to celebrate and promote a busy summer of eventsΒ
The Arts Council England-funded Stoke-on-Trent Cultural Destinations consortium, in partnership with Stoke-on-Trent City Council, has launched a major collaborative campaign promoting Summer in Stoke-on-Trent 2018.

The campaign is encouraging visitors coming to the city for day trips to explore the cityβs cultural offer through a series of approximately 100 indoor and outdoor events across major attractions, venues and parks in the six towns that make up Stoke-on-Trent.Β
Shopkeeper sentenced after hiding illegal tobacco in store
A shopkeeper who hid illegal tobacco in a wall cavity in his store has been ordered to pay more than Β£1,300.Β

Dana Karim, who owned World Mini Market in Hanley, was found guilty of one count of selling counterfeit tobacco, and seven counts of possessing counterfeit tobacco for sale following a trial at North Staffordshire Justice Centre.

An exciting new event celebrating the scientific legacy of WW1 is taking place at the Potteries Museum and Art Gallery on Saturday, 15 September.Β

The museum has received a National Lottery grant of Β£9,000, to host the project called βCSI β The Scientific Legacy of WW1β.Β

The funding which has been awarded through the Heritage Lottery Fundβs βFirst World War: Then and Nowβ programme, will support the project which focuses on how science and technology developed during the conflict.
