Weather prediction: Apologies for lack of information over the weekend. Technical issues.
The weekend has been bitterly cold seeing temperatures as low as -4 but very Arid with no moisture content meaning we have not treated any of the networks for frost or ice. Today however we have been issued with a Amber weather warning for snow which is provided by the Met Office. The amount of snow is yet unknown but still requires us to prepare for the event. Our teams are out on the routes now and are treating to ensure any snow that falls onto freezing surfaces does bond to the road
So we will be gritting the roads described in the city council’s winter gritting policy at 05:30 26/02/2018 and will continue to do so until we are confident the roads are adequately prepared.
