Carers' Week at the King's Hall - June 15

This year, Carers' Week will take place June 12 to 18, and we plan to hold a Carers' Marketplace on Thursday, June 15, which will be open to carers and the people who support them. The event will include information, stalls and demonstrations by organisations and businesses providing services to carers and/or those they care for.

 

The council is looking for organisations, community groups and businesses which provide services to carers, or those they provide care for, to take part. 

We are particularly keen to hear from small businesses and local groups who can offer support to carers in their community.


If you would like to be part of this event or have any questions, contact carers@stoke.gov.uk by Friday, March 31 to register your interest. Places may be limited.


Direct Payments drop in

  • Wednesday, March 29, at 11am, Hanley Community Fire Station

The drop-in takes place quarterly and is open to anyone who receives Direct Payments. Ask questions and meet people in this friendly, welcoming group.

Job vacancy: activity sessional worker for the National Autistic Society

  • five hours per week
  • £7.80 per hour
  • zero hours contract - 20 hours per month
  • closing date: March 27

Applications for this job are sought from anyone suitably qualified and experienced for the role but particularly those with a diagnosis of autism or Asperger syndrome.

 

The National Autistic Society is looking for someone to join its team of staff and volunteers at the Stafford and district branch in providing activities for children with autism.


You will help staff to run children's activities on weekends and during summer holidays. Activities include children's stay-and-play club, youth club and occasional outings with children and families. Attendance at monthly committee meetings, as well as supervision with the activity leader will also be necessary.
