EYPP checks

The first round of EYPP checks for the autumn term have now been completed, results of which you can find in the 'child weightings' column of the Provider Portal.  Please see example below:

EYPP

By the end of the summer term we had found more than 95 per cent of eligible children, which is great, so that's the target to beat. Here's some facts to help you:

  • Each child must have a signed declaration. This needs to be the parent in receipt of the eligible benefit. Details then need to be populated within the Synergy Provider Portal provided by the LA.
  • Each child that has been checked has a date populated in the 'last ECS date' column.
  • Any child without a date has no parent carer details populated, therefore no check could be completed
  • An unsuccessful claim will have a date but no child weighting.

EYPP follows the child so please ensure start dates are correct for any entries within the system.  You should never knowingly claim for a child when they are not accessing a childcare place.

Early years pupil premium for children in care

From September 2016, EYPP funding for children in care will only be paid to providers when there is evidence of clear targets for its use in a high quality, up-to-date PEP. EYPP payments for children in care will be released in your balancing payment, once the Virtual School has confirmed the PEP is in place.

In addition, to ensure children in care are receiving the best possible start in the early years, training will be made available to all free early education providers to promote secure attachment for all children. This training is in line with the 2015 NICE guideline on attachment and the city’s Attachment-Aware Schools programme:

"Schools and other education providers should ensure that all staff who may come into contact with children and young people with attachment difficulties receive appropriate training on attachment difficulties."

- NICE guideline on attachment 2015

Further details of this training will be sent out to all providers in due course.

Are your claims accurate and up to date?
