Winter weather gritting (no logo)
How does gritting work?

Gritting in the city tonight

Weather prediction: Tonight has been forecast to have light rain showers below 300m and snow above 300m.  The temperature will drop in the early hours of the morning close to or below zero allowing any standing water to freeze

So we will be gritting the roads described in the city council’s winter gritting policy at 20:00 26/04/2016

You can see where we grit on the roadworks.org map by selecting map layers > driver information > winter gritting routes and zoom in to see the roads you are interested in.

How does the council make the decision to grit the roads?

How do I get my grit bin refilled? What's the best way to remove snow from the street? Who grits the A50 and A500?
