Join our upcoming sessions
|
We’re hosting three online sessions this month to help you stay informed and supported. Sessions include information on understanding your contract, payslips, and work schedules.
Our Lead Employer knowledge sessions give you the chance to hear directly from our specialist teams on key areas of your employment, with time to ask questions and gain practical advice.

Sexual misconduct policy
Our new sexual misconduct policy is live
 |
|
Our sexual misconduct policy is now live and reinforces our zero-tolerance approach to sexual harassment, abuse and assault. It provides clear guidance on reporting concerns and accessing support.
If you experience or witness non-urgent or non-emergency sexual misconduct at work, we encourage you to report this using the sexual misconduct reporting form.

 Employment Services Team unavailability
Please note: the Employment Services (Admin, Payroll & Pensions) Team will be unavailable from 1pm on Friday 5 June and will reopen as normal on Monday 8 June due to an internal conference. During this period, all calls will be diverted to an out of office message and emails will be responded to upon the team’s return. |

Car parking deductions from salary
Considerations as we approach summer rotations
As rotations approach, please check your payslip for any ongoing deductions such as car parking or mess fees at your current placement.
If you're moving trust and a deduction is no longer required, it will continue unless you contact the Medical Staffing Team (MST) at your current trust to request cancellation. They will then notify Payroll on your behalf.
To set up a new deduction at your new placement, please contact the MST at your new trust, who will arrange this and inform Payroll.
Please note: Payroll cannot action changes directly, as all requests must go via the relevant trust.

GP training visa extension reminder
Important visa guidance for GP colleagues-in-training
Reminder for those on an NHS England sponsored visa in a GP Training Programme. If your visa has been extended by 4 months under the GP visa extension scheme, please note that while this allows you to remain in the UK, you cannot continue working or training with Lead Employer or NHS England during this period.
If your training extends beyond your current Certificate of Sponsorship end date, you must:
• Apply for a training extension via NHS England using the NHS England sponsorship extension form • Obtain a new Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) and use it to apply for a new visa • Update Lead Employer with your new CoS and visa via the right to live and work documentation form
Please note: working without the correct visa status may result in suspension without pay or termination of employment.

Disclosure of criminal charges
Important reminder
We would like to remind you that you're required to promptly inform Lead Employer, your Host Primary Manager, NHS England and your professional body if you're arrested, cautioned, or charged with a criminal offence.
You must provide full details at the time of disclosure and keep all relevant parties updated on any developments, regardless of the outcome.
We understand these situations can be sensitive, however timely disclosure is essential. Failure to do so may result in formal investigation or other employment action, depending on the circumstances.

 Inclusion matters group
Update following first April meeting
The inclusion matters group held its first meeting in April to discuss key priorities around inclusion and colleague-in-training wellbeing. Key themes included creating safe spaces for open discussion, improving reporting and escalation routes, addressing differential attainment (particularly for IMGs), and strengthening support for underrepresented groups. The importance of flexibility in training and valuing lived experience were also highlighted.
Work is now underway to progress the themes raised and explore practical ways to strengthen inclusion and wellbeing across training environments. The next meeting will take place Wednesday 17 June. To join, please email lead.employercommunications@merserywestlancs.nhs.uk
