Share your training journey with us
We’re inviting you to share your training journey with us in 2026
In 2025, a selection of colleagues-in-training shared their training journeys with us, and we’ve really valued hearing about experiences across different placements and stages of training. We’d like to invite you to share your stories again this year.
Why your voice matters
As your employer, we know we’re not part of your day-to-day clinical work. Much of your experience happens within host organisations, and we understand that HR can sometimes feel removed from that reality. That’s exactly why hearing directly from you matters.
It’s simply an opportunity to share your experience of training - what’s worked well, what’s been challenging and what you’ve learned along the way.
Knowledge session calendar updates
Sign up to the sessions that matter to you
We’ve made a small number of updates to the knowledge session calendar shared earlier this year. These changes reflect some minor adjustments to session scheduling and availability, and the updated version now shows the most accurate information going forward.
We’ll continue to run sessions throughout the year focused on the topics you told us are most helpful, and we’ll share details of upcoming sessions in advance so you have time to plan and attend where relevant.
As always, if there are topics you’d like us to consider for future sessions, you’re very welcome to let us know.

Keeping your details up to date in ESR
Important reminder
Please ensure that your personal details are kept up to date in Electronic Staff Record (ESR). This includes your current home address, primary contact number and next of kin (NOK) information.
Accurate and up-to-date records are essential for timely communication, emergency situations and compliance with organisational requirements. Incorrect or outdated information can result in delays or issues with the processing of expenses and other payments.
If you have recently moved or any of your details have changed, please update them in ESR as soon as possible to avoid unnecessary delays.

Car parking deductions from salary
Considerations with placement rotations
During rotation periods, please remember to check your payslip for any ongoing deductions related to car parking or mess fees at your current placement.
If you're moving to a new Trust and a deduction is no longer applicable, it will continue to be taken from your salary unless you inform the Medical Staffing Team (MST) at your current Trust to cancel it. They will then notify our Payroll Team on your behalf.
To stop a deduction:
- Contact the MST at the Trust you're rotating out of
- Ask them to confirm the cancellation with our Payroll Team
|
f you would like to set up a new deduction (e.g., for car parking at your new placement), please:
- Speak to the MST at your new Trust
- They will arrange for the set up and inform our Payroll Team
|
*Please don't contact our Payroll Team direct as the cancellation instruction or set up must come direct from the Trust that you are on placement with.

Time to Talk Day - your voice matters
Support is available at every stage of your training
Time to Talk Day reminds us how important it is to speak up and feel supported during training. We provide a confidential raising concerns form for colleagues-in-training to raise any concern. This may include issues related to safety, bullying or harassment, discrimination or racism, sexual misconduct, unsafe working practices, professional or ethical concerns, or suspected fraud or corruption.
We strongly encourage you to raise concerns in a timely manner. All concerns are taken seriously and reviewed appropriately by the Lead Employer Team.
On Time to Talk Day - and every day - your voice matters, and support is available.
