Staffordshire residents awarded British Empire Medals
On Tuesday 15 October, seven outstanding Staffordshire residents were awarded the prestigious British Empire Medal in the 2024 Birthday Honours, for their invaluable contributions to their local communities.
The awards were presented at a special ceremony hosted by the Chairman of Staffordshire County Council.
From local government to charity and sports, their efforts have made a lasting impact on Staffordshire, and we're so proud to see them recognised.

Staffordshire celebrates recycling week
As part of recycling week, we're excited to announce that Staffordshire has successfully recycled nearly 60,000 tonnes of waste at our Household Waste Recycled Centres over the past year!
We'd like to thank all our residents for your hard work and commitment in making Staffordshire more sustainable.
We have also launched several innovative programmes to collect reusable items, including:
-
28,000 litres of paint through the PaintCycle programme
-
550 pieces of medical care equipment via MediCycle
-
over 10,000 technology items through the TechCycle scheme
These initiatives not only reduce waste but also support those in need within our community.
