Celebrate county's heritage
September marks the beginning of the annual Staffordshire History Festival, a two-month celebration of our local history and cultural heritage.
Hosted by Staffordshire Library and Arts and Archive and Heritage, this festival offers a range of events, talks, book displays, and activities across our libraries. You can also find plenty of online content through our social media channels. To stay updated, look for the hashtag #StaffsHistFest on social media, ask at your local library, or visit our Staffordshire Connects website to find events near you.

What’s next after results day?
If your teen isn't sure what to do next after their GCSEs, BTECs, or A-Levels, don't worry - there are plenty of options available.
Many employers look for “transferable skills” - skills that can be learnt in various areas of life and are valued because they show a person’s ability to adapt and be versatile. If your teen enjoys working with people, communicates well, and is open to new challenges, they already have the foundation needed for a rewarding career in care. Many people begin as carers and go on to become nurses or managers within the field.
Watch: Hear from our Dignity in Care award winners about their experiences working in care.
With over 16,000 care jobs available in Staffordshire, now’s a great time to explore this rewarding field. Learn more at Staffordshire Jobs and Careers.
Sadly, on average, seven lives are lost to suicide each month across Staffordshire. Often, those struggling feel isolated and see no way out. However, we all have the power to make a difference.
Our message, this World Suicide Prevention Day (10 September), is that everyone can learn the skills to help someone. We offer two types of training: a general course for everyone and a specialised course for those who work with or support children and young people.
Now is the perfect time to sign up for a half-day course and gain the skills needed to save a life.
