 Meet the Staffordshire athletes who will represent Team England at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Triple Olympic swimming champion, Adam Peaty, will be hoping to claim the 50m breaststroke at the Commonwealth 2022 Birmingham. Another swimmer, Greg Butler, who will also be one to watch, beat Peaty’s City of Derby Swimming Club records in 2018, becoming the fastest 17-year-old British swimmer ever in the 200-metre discipline.
Cyclists Dan Bigham, Hayden Norris, Josie Nelson and Sophie Capewell will race for gold as part of a 35-strong group led by five-time Olympic champion Laura Kenny. Athletics stars Ben Williams, Jazmin Sawyers and Shaun Burrows will be looking to 'Bring It Home' as they compete in triple jump, long jump and track.
Rebecca Bedford, from Yoxall, has three world championship golds to her name in badminton and will be looking to add powerlifting gold to her medal collection at this summer’s Commonwealth Games.
