Staffordshire businesses are reminded to plan ahead for any potential disruption.
As IRONMAN 70.3 Staffordshire returns to the county this coming weekend, businesses are being reminded to check for local road closures and plan ahead.
Residents, organisations and businesses are being reminded to plan ahead for any travel or other possible impact during the event weekend, as traffic access restrictions will be implemented before and during the event.
The gruelling IRONMAN 70.3 Staffordshire triathlon event will take place on Sunday 12th June 2022 and covers 70.3 miles through the Staffordshire countryside, passing through Stafford, Rugeley and Cannock Chase.
If you live, work or plan to visit or travel near any of the event route, then you are urged to look at the traffic access page on the official IRONMAN STAFFORDSHIRE website and plan any travel or journey that you intend to make on the weekend of 11 and 12 June 2022 accordingly.
There will be unrestricted access for emergency services at all times.

Please remember that
- Any road restrictions are temporary, with diversions in place. Emergency vehicles have unrestricted access to all routes at all times.
- IRONMAN is a one-day annual event, which brings in tens of thousands of visitors to enjoy our beautiful county and allows us to showcase Staffordshire to the world.
- Hundreds of local people take part, having spent months training for their big day and a gruelling feat of endurance with a 1.2 open water swim, 56-mile bike, followed by a 13.1 mile half marathon.
- The very popular event is enjoyed by thousands of local people, and FREE park and ride shuttle buses are available for all
- Spectator hotspots are Chasewater, Stafford Castle and Stafford Town Centre
