IRONMAN 70.3 STAFFORDSHIRE UPDATE

Plan ahead, get tested and have a wonderful time at IRONMAN 70.3 Staffordshire

As IRONMAN 70.3 Staffordshire returns to the county this weekend, people are being reminded to check for local road closures and all athletes, attendees, and volunteers encouraged to take lateral flow tests.

This will be the first large event taking place in Staffordshire since the pandemic began, and Covid-19 restrictions will still be in place.

Get tested and follow public health guidelines

More than 1200 athletes will take part in the triathlon, which has a route spanning four district areas this Sunday July 18th.  Athletes must follow very stringent and increased public heath guidelines this year including:

  • A pre-event health questionnaire and additional registration day screening processes
  • Face masks mandatory in all race venues throughout the weekend
  • Maintaining social distancing in all race areas, including the run leg
  • A Staffordshire County Council testing station/van will be available on registration days

Reminder to plan ahead for travel

You are also being advised to check the route and timings if you are planning on travelling locally as various access measures and staggered road closures will be in place over the weekend.
