Resources for Staffordshire businesses to support employee wellbeing

Next week is Mental Health Awareness Week, the perfect time to support your colleagues

Half of adults have said that their mental health has got worse during lockdown (Mind). Working remotely for so long and even the expectation of returning to the office is causing real challenges for businesses.

Now more than ever, businesses across Staffordshire need to think about the wellbeing of their employees, over and above making the workplace Covid-19 safe.

We all have mental health. Staying in positive mental health allows employees realise their full potential, cope with the pressures of everyday life, work productively, make good choices and have positive relationships.

In these uncertain times, mental health conditions are a leading cause of sickness after the lockdowns.  Businesses can access the support they need from our partners on the Workplace Health Staffordshire webpages, which offer advice and support, and:

  • free mental health first-aid training and suicide awareness training
  • a free 12 week course to support employees with healthy lifestyles
  • a free 'Thrive at Work' awards programme and support
  • someone to speak to if you're worried about an employee's mental health
