Staffordshire moves to Tier 4

Staffordshire is now in tier 4 - stay home

Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent moved into Tier 4 on 31st December.

What does Tier 4 mean?

  • Stay at home. You must not leave your home unless you have a “reasonable excuse” such as work, education, essential shopping or medical appointments
  • In general, you must not meet socially. However, you can exercise or meet in a public outdoor place with people you live with, your support bubble or with one other person
  • You must not meet indoors socially with any other household, unless part of your support bubble
  • Clinically extremely vulnerable people are advised not to work if they cannot work from home
  • All shops deemed non-essential by the Government must close
  • Hairdressers and barbers must close
  • Indoor entertainment venues must close
  • Gyms and indoor swimming pools, indoor sports courts and dance studios must close

Get tested even without symptoms

covid 19 swab

With cases still on the rise nationally and new more contagious strains spreading rapidly, people with or without symptoms are being encouraged to book a covid-19 test.

If you live or work in a 'hotspot' area you should book a rapid covid test at one of our community sites. Details of sessions this week and how to book can be found here

If there are no community sessions planned, people can book a test via the national portal https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test  and choose “my local council has asked me to book a test”.

If you do have any symptoms (which can all be found here) you should book a test via the national portal.
