Virtual Jobs Fair

Are you a business, organisation or training provider in the construction or health and care sector?

You can advertise your training or job vacancies for free at the virtual Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Jobs Fair!

The county council is working with the Department for Work and Pensions, PeoplePlus and the Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Local Enterprise Partnership (SSLEP)  to host the online event on Thursday 14th January between 11am and 2pm.

Thousands of potential employees and learners are set to go to the hashtag #StokeStaffsJobsFair via Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn to browse and even apply for construction and health and care sector opportunities – two of our area’s biggest growth sectors.  You can advertise your opportunities for free at the fair.

There will be more #StokeStaffsJobsFairs for other sectors over the coming months if the inaugural event is a success!

How does it work?

  1. Send your opportunities to clare.abbotts@staffordshire.gov.uk or post them direct online between 11am and 2pm on Thursday 14th January.  Use your usual Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn account but make sure that you include the hashtags #StokeStaffsJobsFair and #Openforwork
  2. See your opportunities shared and retweeted to thousands more potential applicants for free!

Join the 'Stay safe, shop local' call with #ThinkStaffordshireFirst

With Staffordshire set to move to the 'High' Covid Alert level, there's never been a more important time to encourage local people to spend their money with local businesses.

The #ThinkStaffordshireFirst campaign is about showcasing the local people, products, services and businesses that are just as good (if not better) and as cost-effective as you'd get from anywhere else. It's about helping them to realise that local spending = supporting local jobs.

Did you know that if everyone spent an extra £5 a week locally it would mean an extra £189million a year to the Staffordshire economy?

To join the campaign to get everyone to 'Think Staffordshire First' and help promote your business over the next few critical months, you can:

  • DOWNLOAD the social media frames and digital collateral that you can use with your usual images  on your social media channels to make a real impact
  • GET RETWEETED /SHARED TO THOUSANDS OF POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS when you use the hashtag  #ThinkStaffordshireFirst on any of your social media posts
  • TELL US YOUR STORY - Email communications@staffordshire.gov.uk  - Tell us about your business and why people should think about buying from you first.  We'll then work with you to promote your business.
  • RETWEET/ SHARE the #ThinkStaffordshireFirst posts from our Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn pages.
