This week: Forging Ahead with the Getting Building Fund

Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Local Enterprise Partnership recently secured £23.7million from the government's Getting Building Funding from it's 'New Deal' programme, committed in response to the economic impact of coronavirus. This funding will support the partnership delivery of some major projects across Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire

The award puts our area in the top quartile of all LEP areas in terms of funding received, with the government recognising our history of delivery and the value of accelerating many of our existing economic growth projects for recovery, renewal and growth.

Funded projects will deliver for our area: new innovation and enterprise space, investment in digital skills for young people and improvements to infrastructure to unlock housing space and travel capacity.

"We are delighted to be able to partner in these projects. In supporting the Government to build back better, build back greener and build back faster, our Getting Building Fund projects will support important delivery under our Local Industrial Strategy, encouraging our local economy's recovery and ultimate growth.'' Alun Rogers, Chair Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire LEP
