Newly refurbished facilities now open
South Staffordshire Council's leisure centres have received substantial improvements over the last 12 months with specific upgrade work carried out at each of the facilities.
 Codsall Leisure Centres gym received a full upgrade last year; Refurbishment work followed at Penkridge Leisure Centre which consisted of a new entrance and reception, and a total upgrade of the gym featuring the latest Pulse Fitness equipment.
 Cheslyn Hay Leisure Centres refurbishment work completed this week with all facilities now open for use.
 The refurbishment consisted of upgrades to the entrance, foyer and reception, all-new Pulse Fitness gym, and a newly tiled poolside and fully refurbished swimming pool changing rooms.
 Councillor Len Bates, Cabinet Member for Community Services, added: “The work undertaken at Cheslyn Hay Leisure Centre has significantly improved the facilities and experience for customers using the centre. Customers are already enjoying the new gym and now able to use the refurbished changing rooms for the swimming pool.”
Wombourne Leisure Centres refurbishment work is now near to completion with the leisure centre receiving upgrade work to the reception and foyer; and the swimming pool and changing rooms which are due to re-open later this month.
 Wombourne Leisure Centre gym is also set to benefit from a complete refurbishment. Details are currently being finalised in relation to the works and specific dates for the planned upgrade will be released in the near future.
 Councillor Roger Lees, Leader of the council, said: “I am pleased the work at Cheslyn Hay Leisure Centre is now complete. These refurbishment works are part of a wider investment of £3.4m South Staffordshire Council is making across our centres. Work has already been completed at Penkridge Leisure Centre and is shortly due for completion at Wombourne Leisure Centre.”
