Leisure Centre Refurbishment Progress
Penkridge Leisure Centre
 Penkridge Leisure Centres refurbishment to the main entrance, reception and gym is complete. The gym now provides all new Pulse Fitness equipment featuring large screen consoles and the latest cardio, resistance and free weights. Penkridge Leisure Centre is taking new members - to join, view our membership packages here, then complete the membership form and direct debit form, and email them to us at Penkridge@sstaffs.gov.uk
Wombourne Leisure Centre
 Wombourne Leisure Centres refurbishment started on Monday, August 8th with the majority of facilities unaffected in the first phase which will see the refurbishment of the reception, foyer and poolside changing rooms.
Reception
- Please be aware that the temporary reception is card-only. We are unable to take cash payments.
- Please be patient on arrival at the centre when checking in. We will do our best to get everyone booked in as quickly as possible. Please note that unfortunately there is no shelter when queueing to book in so please come prepared to queue outside, taking into account weather conditions.
Swimming
We would like to thank visitors for their cooperation during the works however, we would like to reiterate a few basic rules to swimmers:
- Swimmers must not undress on poolside or attempt to remove swimwear.
- Swimmers must not change on the spectator balcony; in the toilets; or in the gym changing rooms as this creates slip hazards.
- Belongings should be left in designated areas on poolside. At the end of a swim, you should dry-off on poolside (keeping swimwear on) and place loose clothes over the top of swimwear.
- Due to customers accessing the pool via the spectator balcony - entry into swim sessions will not be available until just before the start of the sessions (this is to reduce congestion on the balcony and poolside).
Swimming lessons
- Parents must not come onto poolside.
- Children must not change on the balcony or in the stair well leading to the exit.
- Children must wait at the end of the balcony prior to their lesson in order for the previous lesson to exit the building.
- Children should bring their towels, outdoor shoes and belongings onto poolside and place on the poolside ledges ready for collection at the end of their swimming lesson.
- Please do not arrive too early for lessons in order to alleviate any congestion.
Cheslyn Hay Leisure Centre
Cheslyn Hay Leisure Centre are due to receive an upgrade later this year which will see the refurbishment of the reception, swimming pool and pool changing rooms, and the gym. We'll be providing more details in the coming months on what to expect.

Staffordshire Space Scheme Summer discounts for 8-17 year olds
 Staffordshire Space Scheme provides discounts for young people aged 8-17 years.
- Swim for £1
- Gym for £1 (must be 13 years+)
- 3G pitch hire for £10 (1/4 pitch for 1 hour. Astro trainers must be worn)

Gym Access for Teens
 Young people aged 13 - 17 years can access the gym as part of our Active Youth scheme which provides supervised gym sessions at specific times.
Young people can now also use the gym at any time when accompanied by a participating adult.
All young people will be required to undergo a pre-booked gym induction which can be booked during any of the Active Youth sessions.
