To vote at your polling station on Thursday 2 May, you will need to show photo ID. No ID? You can apply for free voter ID now but the deadline for applications is Wednesday 24 April if you want to vote in May's elections.

Peckham Chamber Orchestra’s free spring concert: from Beethoven to Kate Bush
Peckham Chamber Orchestra welcomes players of abilities from the local community. They are known for their mash-up of orchestral music, from the classical greats to pop classics. Their spring concert is on Tuesday 23 April in SE15 from 8pm.

Support young traders at a market in Bermondsey
On 4 May there will be a young traders' market at the Blue Market (SE16 3UQ) where young entrepreneurs will showcase and sell their goods. You can also enjoy the local cafés, shops and library on the public square.

Quiz: do you know the bowel cancer symptoms?
Bowel cancer is the 4th most common cancer in the UK. It can be detected early with screening when it's easier to treat. If you're 54 to 74 and registered with a Southwark GP you'll get a screening kit, which you can do in the comfort of your own home.

We’ve got tennis courts across the borough (for all abilities). Some fees apply if you want to book courts or get coaching. Residents under 18, or those with a disability, can get a free membership to book once a day, for 30 minutes, with no charge.
Free five-minute health check at a local library or leisure centre
Check your height, weight, body mass index (BMI), blood pressure, heart rate and more at free health check kiosks. Find them at The Castle (SE1) and Peckham Pulse leisure centres, and Dulwich, Camberwell, Una Marson and Canada Water libraries.
Walk the Green Link Walk, starting in Peckham
The new 15-mile walk links almost 40 green spaces and a number of waterways via mostly quiet streets in London. The signposted walk starts in Peckham, ends in Epping Forest, and passes many historical points.

Whooping cough is spreading – vaccines offer the best protection
It can be particularly serious for pregnant women and young children. Numbers are very high at the moment.

- babies of eight-weeks-old are offered the 6 in 1 vaccine, including one to prevent whooping cough

Measles cases are high in London: get protected with the MMR vaccine
Measles is serious, can spread easily and cause hearing loss, brain damage and in some cases, death. Children are at highest risk, but anyone can catch it. In Southwark, children are offered the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine at 12 months and the second dose at 18 months.

We're working with Cancer Research UK to run free, 3.5 hour cancer awareness workshops for local businesses and organisations. Book a workshop on 29 May, 12 or 13 June, and say what language you’d like it in.
Get drop-in health and wellbeing advice
Look out for our health and wellbeing roadshow and van. Come to a free event where you can get blood pressure and healthy weight checks. There'll be advice on diabetes, cancer screening, vaccines, smoking, alcohol, mental health, and more. Visit the roadshow next on:

Get your travel vaccines and medicines before you go abroad
More people in south London have been diagnosed with travel-related illnesses recently, in particular Hepatitis A (which can cause lifelong liver problems) and malaria. You can book Hepatitis A, typhoid and tetanus vaccinations for free through a Southwark GP, and ask advice about how to protect yourself from other illnesses.
Take a free three-day construction course next week
The three-day course at London South Bank Technical College will train you in retrofit in the construction industry. It's free for all Southwark residents aged 16 or above, who are not currently employed or self-employed.
