Welcome to the Story of Southwark
The new permanent exhibition at Southwark Heritage Centre is now open! Drop in and explore the pictures, films, objects and artefacts that make up the Story of Southwark.

Art on the roof
In Praise of Folly - a new sculpture by Andy Holden is now in place on the roof of Peckham Library. It's best viewed through a telescope from the Bold Tendencies rooftop gallery, but you can see it from all over south London.

The AKO Caine Prize for African Writing gifts hundreds of books to Peckham Library
This generous gift includes previous submissions to the annual literary award, covering at least ten years. Cllr Alice Macdonald, Southwark Council Cabinet Member for Communities, Equalities and Neighbourhoods, said: “We are delighted to accept and share these wonderful books from the AKO Caine Prize. There is a wealth of glorious, powerful and exciting African literature and we are happy to bring these stories to the people of Peckham and beyond.”

An evening of social history Southwark Archives present a live Zoom Q&A with with Christine Goldschmidt, former executive officer at Newington Lodge, the homeless shelter that inspired Ken Loach's Cathy Come Home. 8 June, 6pm
Play up with Blue Elephant Theatre This online workshop will inspire children aged 1 - 3 with songs, acting and puppets. Until 27 June
Power up with Southwark Libraries Join resident Spine Festival artists, Milly Rolle and Ehireme Omoaka, for an imaginative workshop based on a superhero called Empathy. 3 June, 2pm

The Brunel Museum - Don't miss their community open weekend on 5 and 6 June. From Saturday 29 May, a life-size peepshow of the Thames Tunnel will be on display at the Museum Piazza.
