 Your community council

Well done to everyone who ventured out in the cold for our meeting in January. We were looking at the challenges facing our area, and the rest of Southwark, that are involved in dealing with Health and Social Care issues... it is a huge topic, and we have barely scratched the surface, but many thanks to our presenters:

Cllr Maisie Anderson Cabinet Member for Public Health and Social Regeneration

Noel Baxter GP Clinical Director for Quality and Service Improvement

Cathy Deplessis Southwark Pensioners Centre

Cllr Vickki Mills Cabinet Member for Children and Schools and Chair of Corporate Parenting committee

Laura James virtual school for looked after children

If you would like to know what was discussed you can check out the live streamed footage at

The next meeting will be on 19 March and will include decisions on the awards for the Neighbourhoods Fund Applications, plus CGS funding decisions for Peckham and S.Livesey wards.

Bags of taste

Your Bags of Taste Challenge

Can you cook a delicious and healthy meal for five people for a fiver?

At the meeting, Sarah Pollard, from Bags of Taste, a charity that is

teaching the UK to cook for £1 a portion!!

...gave us a challenge!

Bags of Taste is teaching hundreds of people how to cook new dishes and make their money go further. Sarah shared just a little of all the good things that they are doing and issued a challenge to all of us.

Use the recipe and instructions that have been provided, and take a photo of it in all its glory, with or without hungry people getting involved! Submit your photo to gill.kelly@southwark.gov.uk and we will display the best pics, and maybe invite you to tell us how easy it was/wasn't etc.

If you were not at the meeting, you can find the recipe and full instructions on our web page at http://www.southwark.gov.uk/engagement-and-consultations/community-councils/peckham-and-nunhead

We would love as many people as possible to try this out, eat well and save money. Feel fee to post your photo on the facebook page too if you like!! https://www.facebook.com/PandNcommunitycouncil/?ref=bookmarks
