Road works and closures - 12 September

Current road works:

Warren Avenue will be closed from Laundry Road to Jessamine Road from until 13 September for road resurfacing works. 

Church Street will be closed from Vincent Road to Salem Street until 22 September due to road improvements.

Herbert Walker Avenue will be closed from West Quay Road roundabout to Dock Gate 8 until 26 September to allow the Southampton Boat Show to take place.

College Street will be closed from its Terminus Terrace junction to its Threefield Lane junction until 28 September for emergency building repairs. 

St. Mary's Street will be closed from Old Northam Road to North Front until 28 September for emergency gas works.

Anglesea Terrace will be closed at its junction with Albert Road North until 14 November as part of the Central Bridge road improvement project (see link below on Central Bridge works).

There will be a compulsory left turn from Bugle Street into Town Quay and from French Street into Town Quay until 13 October due to road improvements.

Queen's Terrace will be closed from Latimer Street to Terminus Terrace from until 27 October for road improvement works (between 7pm to 6am) for road resurfacing works. 

Blechynden Terrace and West Park Road will allow one way traffic (inbound) until November


Future road works:

Bridge Road will be closed from Defender Road to Oakbank Road and the northern arm of Oakbank Road will be closed from Bridge Road to the southern arm of Oakbank Road from 6pm on 19 September to 10am on 22 September, from 6pm on 18 October to 6pm on 19 October and from 6am on 20 October to 5pm on 24 October for bridge maintenance works.

Hill Lane will be closed from Howard Road to Darwin Road from 15 to 20 September between 8pm and 6 am for telecommunications works.

Bridge Road will be closed overnight from Defender Road to Oakbank Road from 16 to 20 September from 11.30pm to 5.30am for emergency bridge maintenance works.

High Street will be closed overnight from Town Quay to Porters Lane from from 22 to 24 September between 8pm to 6am to allow new ducts to be installed.

Sea Road will be closed from Hazel Road to Hill Street on 22 September (between 10pm and 6am) for level crossing maintenance.

Gordon Avenue will be closed from Portswood Road to Livingstone Road on 22 September for electric cable renewal works.

West Quay Road  will be closed eastbound from its southern most junction with Harbour Parade to the entrance to the DeVere Grand Harbour Hotel on 24 September from 8pm to 6amt to allow the Southampton Boat Show to take place.

Luccombe Place will be closed on 27 September from 9.30am to 9pm for a street party.

Hanley Road will be closed on 28 September from 10am to 10pm for a street party.

Bassett Crescent East will be closed from Burgess Road to The Mayflowers from 29 September to 13 October for gas main replacement works.

Queens Terrace will be closed from Latimer Street to Orchard Place on 29 September from 7am to 11am (weather permitting) for carriageway surface treatment works. In case of a delay due to weather, the works will carry over to 30 September.

Orchard Place will be closed from Briton Street to Platform Road on 29 September from 11am to 3.30pm (weather permitting) for carriageway surface treatment works. In case of a delay due to weather, the works will carry over to 30 September.

A section of French Street (house number 88 to 90) will be closed on 27 October for development works.

Station Quarter North project road works

West Park Road will be closed westbound from Havelock Road to Blechynden Terrace until the end of October for road improvements works.

Blechynden Terrace will be closed westbound from West Park Road to Wyndham Place service road until the end of October for road improvements works.

Blechynden Terrace (between Wyndham Place and Southbrook Road) will have temporary traffic management measures in place until the end of October.
