Latest News

Dear Champions,

In our next Forum on November 16th, we will focus on Smoking/Vaping and its impact on our health. We will cover a summary of the situation in Southampton and discuss what support is available to residents.

What is happening with COVID-19?

Cases are still rising in some age groups nationally, so do come forward if/when you are invited for a booster. COVID can still cause serious illness, it remains vitally important that we protect ourselves and our families.

We understand that there will be an interesting news article about flu and COVID-19 vaccinations on ITV Meridian tonight, please do tune in to watch, I will be.

You can see latest COVID figures here.

It is also important to ensure that you, if eligible, have your flu vaccination this winter. Appointments are available from GP practices, local pharmacies or can be booked online at www.nhs.uk/wintervaccinations.

Whilst I am reviewing topics for the coming weeks, do let me know what subjects you would be interested in receiving more information about, in order that I can invite guest speakers.

Have a great weekend!

Norovirus

For most, Norovirus is an unpleasant, short-lived illness with a full recovery within 1-2 days without medical intervention. But it can linger longer and have more of an impact in the very young, elderly or those with weakened immunity.
