‘Orphans of the Storm’ and the Titanic | Thursday 15 September | 7.30pm | City Art Gallery Lecture Theatre
Join award-winning author and comedian Celia Imrie (dinnerladies, Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, Mamma Mia and many more) as she discusses her recent novel Orphans of the Storm with the book’s researcher, actor and writer Fidelis Morgan (As Time Goes By, Jeeves and Wooster).

This illustrated discussion will include true stories that are stranger than fiction, anecdotes and the chance to get your own copy of Orphans of the Storm through October Books, who will have a stall at the event.
A blockbuster summer read, Orphans of the Storm tells the story of a mother’s quest to find her children, set against the epic backdrop of the sinking of the Titanic. On Sunday 11 September 2pm to 5pm the gardens at Townhill Park House will be open to the public, with free entrance and parking.
The Gardens were originally designed by Gertrude Jekyll (one of England’s finest garden designers) in 1912 for Lord Swaythling.
The Greggs School took over the premises in 1994 and the gardens have been restored and kept up by a volunteers group called The Friends of TPHG. Discover more about the gardens on the website.
