Taking a Family Approach
A Child Safeguarding Practice Review underway through the Southampton Safeguarding Children Partnership has highlighted the importance of sharing information across services (working with children and adults) in order to safeguard children effectively.
It is recognised this is important for all those who work with children and to ensure a "family approach" and be aware that the problems and difficulties experienced by adult family members can impact on any child they may care for.
Please follow this link to Information Sharing Advice For Practitioners issued by the Department for Education. Please discuss this within your teams and services, thinking about the application of this advice in your practice.
If you do have concerns or worries for a child please visit The Children's Resource Service website for further advice and information.
