Due for your second dose of the vaccine soon?
You will be eligible for your second dose of the COVID-19 vaccination from 10-12 weeks after your first dose. You will need to go back to the same location where you had it before, so that they make sure you receive the same type of vaccine again.
Depending on where you were first vaccinated, the ways of confirming second dose appointments differ; this is due to the logistics of operating different sites and different vaccines, compounded by vaccine delivery schedules.
- If you were invited by your GP practice (e.g. Adelaide Health Centre, Ladies Walk Surgery, Chessel Avenue Surgery, St Peters Surgery, University Health Centre), wait to be contacted by your GP.
- If you were invited for vaccination at a hospital site, (e.g. Solent NHS Trust Hospital), then you will be contacted by the hospital site to book your second dose appointments.
- If you went to a mass vaccination site or pharmacy site (e.g. Applemore Leisure Centre, Boots Pharmacy, West Quay Retail Park), you can book your second appointment online via the National Booking Service www.nhs.uk or by calling 119 if you do not already have one.

Back to nature during Mental Health Awareness Week
Next week, 10 to 16 May, is Mental Health Awareness Week. With Solent Mind, we’re encouraging residents to get out into our parks and greenspaces and share a photograph of themselves (and appropriately socially distanced friends/family) with #GetBackToNature, #ConnectWithNature and/or #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek. Residents can share the photo with us (@southamptoncc) and Solent Mind (@solentmind) on Twitter and on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
We’re also asking local employers to encourage their staff to:
- Share their favourite local nature spots with a photo and a quote explaining why visiting this particular place helps them with their mental health.
- Post about how their work in nature helps boost their mental health and wellbeing and tag them to share on social media.
- Share what your company or organisation does and how it is connected to nature through a short video or picture with a sentence or two.
- Visit the Solent Mind website for more information and use the hashtags.
