Tier 4 Stay Home

Advice for Clinically Extremely Vulnerable People

If you are Clinically Extremely Vulnerable you should stay at home as much as possible, except to go outdoors for exercise or to attend health appointments.

  • You can meet up with one other person from outside your household or support bubble, for example, to exercise in an outdoor public place.
  • Work from home if you can. If you cannot work from home, then you should not attend work for this period of restrictions
  • Avoid all non-essential travel by private or public transport, this includes not travelling to work, school or the shops.
  • Try to keep all contact with others to a minimum and avoid busy areas. Whenever you go out continue to maintain strict social distancing, wash your hands regularly and avoid touching your face.

If you need our help, please call our COVID-19 helpline 023 8083 4800 or complete our online form. The helpline is open Monday to Friday 8.30am-5pm. It will be closed on the Bank Holidays and New Year’s Day then open as usual from Monday 4 January 2021.

Changes to council services

The new Tier restrictions will mean that in Southampton the following places and services will close:

  • Sea City Museum and Southampton Art Gallery (Tudor House will remain closed)
  • Indoor Leisure and Sports Facilities
  • Gateway at One Guildhall Square
  • Community Rooms in Housing Complexes
  • Libraries will be closed until 4 Jan and then offering limited services.

We will be doing everything we can to ensure essential services are maintained over the coming weeks and months. We will continue to prioritise, as we have always done, the safety of the most vulnerable people in our community.

  • The Household Waste and Recycling Centre at Millbrook will remain open with the COVID safety measures already in place. The ‘Re-use’ shop will close as non-essential retail.
  • Weddings, civil partnerships and funerals – new guidance applies.
  • Outdoor public spaces and play areas will remain open.
  • Public MOT bookings will still be available at City Depot.
