Bin collections in Southampton are changing

If you live in Southampton then you will soon see changes to the bin collection rounds. 

Starting from 5 June 2017 household bin collections in Southampton are changing to alternate weeks. General waste will be collected one week, and recycling and glass the next. This means that general waste bins will be collected every other week, as opposed to every week. Collection days will also be changing to make these new rounds as efficient as possible. We have put together some suggestions to ensure a smooth changeover to alternate weekly bin collections and a list of frequently asked questions to help support affected residents.

The change will not affect the majority of residents living in flats. Flats that have wheeled bins or plastic sacks will change to alternate weekly collections. If you are in a flat that is affected then you will have received a new calendar through your door or you can check to see if your flat is included in the change using our handy online calendar. 

Garden Waste
