There is just over a week to go until half-term, which means we've got our fantastic activities for kids of all ages across our three fabulous venues. Tudor House & Garden: Southampton's home of Halloween!

Tudor House - Halloween - seasonal - museums

Fri 28 Oct / 10am-8.30pm / FREE admission

Bring your little monsters to Tudor House, the home of Halloween! Meet our friendly spirits, have your face painted (10am- 6pm) and create creepy craft items. Fancy dress is encouraged! The museum will be open until 8.30pm so you can pop in for the evening. Last entry is at 8pm. Small charges will apply for some activities.

Join us for a special SPOOKY tour of the house and garden, including the attic and cellars, to discover more about the wonderful history of the museum that spans over 800 years. Enjoy a hot drink, scone with jam and cream. Tour lasts one hour and includes steep staircases.


extra{ordinary} Photographs of Britain by The Caravan Gallery

Preview: Thursday 20 October 6pm – 9pm, Solent Showcase 

extra{ordinary} is a national touring exhibition of over one hundred colour photographs made over the last fifteen years. Astutely observed, thought provoking and sometimes hilarious, these images focus on the extraordinary details of everyday life, and constitute a unique record of social change since the millennium. extra{ordinary} offers an insight into the reality and surreality of everyday life in 21st century Britain, seeking out and celebrating the curious, the unusual, the typical and the absurd.

The Caravan Gallery will also be putting together an exhibition about Southampton as part of of their Pride of Place Project, find out how you can get involved!

Art and the Science of Materials

Professor Shoufeng Yang, from the University of Southampton, explains the science behind why materials behave the way they do and discusses the interesting relationship between the arts and science. In addition to the discussion, participants will be given the opportunity to see what 3D printers are capable of and how they are used.
