Thank you to all those who have successfully registered their ECTs and Mentors with us for the Autumn term. Please note, the Autumn term registration deadline is Wednesday 15th October. If you are yet to register your ECT(s), guidance can be found on our website at: Shropshire and Telford Education Partnership - ECF/AB (stepwm2.co.uk).
Just to reiterate, Term 1 ECTs and Mentors should be registered with UCL as the Lead Provider on the DfE portal, whereas ECTs part-way through their induction who are changing schools should be registered with Best Practice Network (or other existing Lead Provider). Please contact the STEP Team with any questions.
Increase in Appropriate Body fees
Due to a rise in costs our new current annual fees are £200 per Early Career Teacher from September 2025. This decision has not been made lightly and is in line with the majority of Teaching School Hubs across the country.
You can find details of all of our Early Career Teacher Entitlement fees via our website at: www.stepwm2.co.uk/our-offer/ecf-ab

The National Child Measurement Programme would like to share a useful animation developed by Leeds Beckett University to address weight-related bullying. The resource was co-produced with families, young people, parents and teachers to raise awareness of, and tackle, stigma and bias associated with body weight, shape and size. It is targeted at key stage 1 and 2 pupils. It is free to use and is aligned with the PSHE curriculum. It can be circulated to your local networks/partners.
Local areas should please review and consider for use as appropriate in their local context.
Everybody deserves kindness
There will also be an accompanying teaching resource pack with lesson plans aligned to KS1 and 2 PHSE curriculum, which will be launched at the end of the month, and available via our webpage: Every body deserves kindness | The Obesity Institute | Research | Leeds Beckett University - it will be free to download and use or adapt to your local settings.
