Next phase of Shrewsbury station area improvements to begin on 27 March

The next phase of work to enhance and improve the Shrewsbury railway station gyratory area will begin on 27 March. This next stage of the work will last around six weeks and require the temporary closure of Cross Street between its junctions with Coton Hill and Castle Foregate.

Work will begin once the current work on the Chester Street/Smithfield Road junction is completed – with this work enabling Chester Street to become two-way from the bottom of Coton Hill to Smithfield Road.

Crowdfund Shropshire spotlight: Empower Her

Jenna Blair Yoga in Shrewsbury is seeking to kick start a women’s health programme across Shropshire, to address gaps in women's mental and physical healthcare. This includes free and affordable supportive yoga classes, workshops and holistic therapies for women to help find paths to better physical, emotional and mental wellbeing.

Despite 1 in 3 women in the UK suffering from a reproductive or gynaecological health issue in their lives, less than 2.5% of UK research is dedicated to reproductive health. Yet many women and girls feel alone and lost, struggling to navigate the physical, mental and emotional impact of their unique health needs.

Sessions will take place at the Jenna Blair Yoga studio in Shrewsbury, as well as other community spaces across the county. The project is seeking £5,953 in crowdfunding donations, find out more and donate here.
