SEND and Inclusion Network (Early Years)
Thank you to those who joined the Early years SEND and Inclusion network meeting last week. There was a staggering 44 attendees!

Our all age locality meetings for Summer 1 are now set up and you are able to book onto these here: SEND and Inclusion network meetings | Shropshire Council
Remember this will be all aged so slightly less Early Years focused but do provide an opportunity to meet SENCos from other settings face-to-face and to also link with the SENCo from the primary school setting you feed into.
Early Years SEND Solution Circles
This week also saw the first four participants join an Early Years SEND Solution Circle aimed at supporting settings when they are experiences some challenges with knowing how to support a child. This was a fabulously solution focused session with all participates taking something away to try. Three further sessions are now available to book onto.

Safer sleep week 2025 – 10th-16th March will focus on what baby sleep should look like, busting common myths surrounding baby sleep and supporting parents and carers through sleep deprivation. The Lullaby Trust have informative resources for both professionals and parents Safer Sleep Week - The Lullaby Trust please share with staff and parents.
Ofsted are asking parents, carers, professionals and learners what they think about their proposals to improve education inspections and their new report cards for providers. This includes:
- early years
- state-funded schools
- non-association independent schools
- further education and skills (FE and skills)
- initial teacher education (ITE)
This link Improving the way Ofsted inspects education - GOV.UK provides and overview of the consultation, draft inspection toolkits and the opportunity to have your say and respond to the proposals.
The consultation is open until 28th April 2025
