 Victoria
reigned for two generations, from the stagecoach to the motor car and
from the Penny Post to the telephone exchange.
Find out how much more there is to ‘Victorian costume’ than men in frock
coats and women in crinolines – how industry, empire, sewing-machines and sport
all produced change and variety. The three sessions will look at the dress of
men, women and children through illustrated lectures, examples from the museum
collection and time to browse a range of source material.
