training, toolkits, conferences and much more!
The five key priorities of the new Domestic Abuse Strategy are:
Prevention - improve prevention
Preparation - increase education
Provision - improve health and wellbeing of survivors
Protection - working with perpetrators
Partnership - improve partnership working
The aims of the strategy are:
To improve services
and support for all victims of domestic violence and abuse.
To develop and deliver
a high quality, coordinated multi-agency response to domestic violence and
abuse.
To further increase
and develop awareness generally about domestic violence and abuse and the
measures in place to help the victims.
To educate children
and young people and the wider general public that domestic violence and abuse
is wrong and is unacceptable and to enable them to make informed choices.
To hold
perpetrators/abusers accountable and provide effective interventions for their
behaviour.
As part of a wider project in
partnership with Bill Longmore, West Mercia Police & Crime Commissioner, Energize are hosting a referral partner event to promote opportunities for challenged
young people and adults.
The event will be an opportunity to hear about some of
the existing offers, but essentially, will provide an opportunity for those who
work with young people to help shape a new referral project that will provide
sports and volunteering programmes, mentoring support and positive activities.
The aim of the partnership is to reduce crime and increase community
resilience, using sport as vehicle for social change.
Energize intend to create a referral
partnership with local providers and hope they can attend the event which will take place on:
Monday 8th June
2pm - 4:30pm
AFC Telford Learning Centre
Energize welcomes providers who work with rehabilitation services, housing
associations, pupil referral, training and skills, victim support and welfare.
