2026 Gleadless Valley Community Skip Days - Dates & Locations
Community skips days are a chance for residents to get rid of unwanted household items free of charge.
There is always staff on hand to help out. We've provided some information at the bottom about what we can and cannot collect.
You may sometimes see us use the term "Day of Action". This is because, alongside the skips, there are often Council staff, community partners and volunteers out taking care of the area in other ways - from litter picking to clearing graffiti.

Here are the dates and locations of the community skip days in 2026. Where available, we have included a link to Google Maps and the What3Words for each skip location:
What can be collected
We will collect most household items but please do not put these in the skip, place these items to the side:
- Fridge/freezer and washing machines
- TVs, computers, monitors

Small electrical items
- Mattresses
- Furniture
We will not collect:
- Asbestos
- Car tyres and car batteries
- Building rubble and soil
- Food waste
- Gas bottles
Hazardous items will not be collected.
