Heart of the City has been compared to the redevelopment of King’s Cross in London because of its scale and ambition. It has created a lively area with shops, offices, homes, and public spaces. It is already a popular place for residents, families, and workers.

We know potholes are causing real frustration across Sheffield and fixing them is a top priority.
Recent heavy rain and freezing weather have made road conditions worse across the country, and Sheffield is no exception. We hear what residents are telling us, and we’re taking action.
Amey, our Streets Ahead construction partner, has doubled its repair teams and is using more robust materials that cope better with winter weather. The most urgent potholes are being fixed within 24 hours, with permanent repairs to follow as soon as conditions allow but within 28 days.
Councillors have met with Amey and council officers to make sure the response is properly reviewed and monitored. All repairs are checked against agreed quality standards.
Thank you for your patience. We’re working hard to fix the problem quickly and keep Sheffield’s roads safe and reliable.
Please keep reporting potholes — it helps teams find and fix issues faster.
