Christmas is nearly here and in this edition there are some suggested activities in the Whats On? section to help you and your family get in the Christmas spirit!.

 Sheffield Grand Mosque
Join us at the Grand Mosque on Friday 30th January, between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM. You’ll have the chance to meet different professionals and learn about the support they can provide.

Christmas Films at the Showroom
Sheffield Parent Carer Forum is showing two Christmas films in a relaxed setting. There will be no trailers, the lights will be dimmer, the sound will be quieter, and there’s a separate room if you need a break during the film.

SYCAAN Christmas Family Fun Day
Irwin Mitchell and SYCAAN are holding a Christmas family fun day at the Niagara Conference and Leisure Centre (S6 1LU). Expect Santa's grotto, face painting, children's entertainers and lots more!
Refreshments and lunch will be provided.

Dates to remember
If your child is moving between phases of education, you must apply for their school/ post 16 setting by the following dates:

Nursery to Primary / Infants - 15th January 2026

Infants to Juniors - 15th January 2026
- Primary/ Junior to Secondary - Deadline has already passed

Secondary to Post 16 - 31st January 2026
If your child is moving between phases and has an EHC Plan, you should have already received a letter from SENDSARs (SEND statutory assessment and review service) and given you parental preferences. If you haven’t received this or not yet given in your preferences the deadline has now passed but please call 0114 2736394 SENDSARS to discuss.
If your child has an EHC Plan this must be reviewed and amended by:

31 March if the transfer is from secondary school to a post-16 institution

15 February in any other case
