Autumn is a busy time for our Streets Ahead teams as we transition from summer and head into the winter months.
Our winter maintenance programme has already started and in this month's bulletin we'll be telling you of some changes to the priority gritting routes as well as changes to the grit bin criteria.
In the city centre, some of the pavements have been undergoing a deep clean to remove chewing gum and it's associated staining and you can read how funding from the Chewing Gum Task Force has made that happen.
And there's also information about some significant roadworks on Derbyshire Lane towards the end of the month and how to find out about roadworks in your area.
More information on all our Streets Ahead services can be found on our website:

Work is underway on a number of city centre streets to clean the pavements of unsightly chewing gum and staining.
The targeted clean-up process, which is being carried out by Sheffield City Council, was made possible following a £27,500 grant from the Chewing Gum Task Force.
It was established by DEFRA and is run by Keep Britain Tidy.

Our winter maintenance programme officially started on 1 October and while there's no wintery weather on the horizon yet, our salt domes are fully stocked and teams are ready to respond to any snow and ice events.
We've made some changes to the winter programme after listening to residents' feedback following the prolonged cold snap in January.
We've changed the criteria for grit bins and updated our priority one and two gritting routes and these updates can be found by clicking the button below.
Other changes will be rolled out gradually over the coming months so keep your eyes peeled.
Resurfacing work in progress.
Motorists using Derbyshire Lane will need to follow a diversion as the road will be closed for three days later this month.
From Monday 27 October to Wednesday 29 October, the road will be closed from Warminster Road to the junction with Norton Lees Lane and Scarsdale Road.
The closure will take place between 7am and 7pm, a diversion route will be in place but motorists are advised to allow extra time for their journey.
There are also overnight works planned this month on Hemsworth Road, Chesterfield Road and Abbey Lane. Residents directly affected by the roadworks will receive a letter with more information 10 days' prior to work starting. Advance warning signs will also be placed on the roads affected.
While we will always contact residents directly affected by any roadworks, you can keep up-to-date with planned work by looking on the interactive roadworks map which is updated regularly.
On the interactive map, you can search for a road, postcode or address. Click on the compass button to find your current location or zoom and pan around the map to find a specific location.
The dates provided on the map are indicative and may be subject to change.
