Independent Government Inspectors are preparing to hold public hearings for the Sheffield Local Plan examination.
The hearings will take place in September and October 2025 at Sheffield Town Hall, Howden House, and Showroom/Workstation.
A draft programme for the public hearings has been published on the Local Plan examination website. This is subject to change. Please check that the final dates and times have been confirmed before arranging to attend or view the hearings.

The Inspectors have invited a selection of people to speak at the hearings.
Only those who indicated during the consultation that they would like to speak at the hearings have received an invitation.
The Inspectors’ selection is based on any additional information they may require.
Yes. Anyone is welcome to attend the hearing in person as an observer, subject to the capacity of the room.
The hearings will also be available to watch online via the livestream on the Sheffield City Council YouTube channel.
