At our information evenings, people can ask questions to help them decide whether Fostering is right for them. Here are a few of the questions that we discussed at our last session:
If you are in a relationship but don’t live together, what level of assessment is required for the partner who is not applying to be a foster carer?
This depends on your individual circumstances. We can talk this through during our first visit to you.
Is training available during school holidays for those who work in schools?
We usually offer two training courses a year during different school holidays. If these dates don’t work for you, we can look at alternative arrangements. We also have a wide range of online training courses available to our foster carers.
How quickly can I begin training and start the assessment process?
If you meet our eligibility criteria, you will be able to progress straight to the next steps. These are initial home visit, training and assessment.
Do you have questions of your own?
You can come to our next information evening to ask any questions you might have. Our staff and foster carers are there to tell you what it’s really like to foster with us and answer your questions.
Our next ones are:
- Thursday 14 August, 6pm - 7.30pm
- Tuesday 16 September, 6pm - 7.30pm
